Orphanage sponsorship provides care.
80% of the children in Bulgarian orphanage homes are of Roma ( often referred to as "gypsy") ethnicity. Eastern Europe has a high number of orphaned children. A high percentage of these children suffer from mental or physical disabilities. Some of this is due to impoverished parents that lack resources to provide for their children, and improper care in social homes due to lack of funds.
We provide funding for basic needs such as formula, diapers, clothes, beds, strollers, and much more. We currently support social homes and community centers in Sofia, Plovdiv, and Blagoevgrad, Bulgaria. When we can alleviate the financial burden through sponsoring items to care for the physical needs of the children, the caretakers in the homes can begin to focus more on the emotional care and development of the children.
